Ener-Tex International is saddened to announce the passing of Alan Rauch, founder of the company and longtime leader in the oilfield equipment industry. He was 85 years old.

Born and raised in Houston, TX, Alan started & ran a pioneering rental tool company, Oilfield Rental Service, in 1956. For almost 30 years, “Oilfield Rental” serviced all regions across the country and all over the world for any and all oilfield drilling equipment needs.

In the early 1980’s, Alan sold Oilfield Rental Service to Enterra, which eventually was merged with Weatherford International. Shortly thereafter, Alan formed Ener-Tex International as a buyer & re-seller of refurbished oilfield drilling equipment with a focus on pressure control equipment and downhole tubulars. In 1996, Alan’s youngest son, Jon, joined on with the company full time after spending several summers assisting Alan in years prior.

Under the leadership & guidance of Alan, Ener-Tex has sustained great success and formed longstanding relationships with customers & vendors both domestic and overseas for the past 30+ years. Alan exercised great habits in work ethic and providing above-and-beyond customer service, two tenets that remain at the top of the priority list for Ener-Tex today.

When he wasn’t at the office, Alan most enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling or partaking in a piping hot plate of cheese enchiladas at the nearest hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant. Aside from being a respected leader in the industry, he was also a loving Grandfather, Father and friend. He loved life and life loved him.
