HISTORY OF ENER-TEX INTERNATIONAL, INC.
Ener-Tex International, Inc. was founded in 1987 as a Texas corporation by Mr. Alan Rauch. Alan was the founding partner of Oil Field Rental Service Company, later to be named Enterra, Inc. Today, this company now represents a major part of Weatherford’s rental equipment subsidiary.
Ener-Tex International was founded to buy and sell oil/gas drilling equipment with headquarters in Houston, Texas. This new company dealt primarily in Drill Pipe and Pressure Control Equipment such as Blowout Preventers and Valves. At its inception, the Company had one employee, Alan Rauch, and by the end of the first year had a second employee, Mr. Leroy Blazek. The company had an initial capitalization, furnished by Alan Rauch, in the amount of $100,000 and at the end of the second year had an inventory of approximately $200,000.
Jon Rauch, a Houston attorney and son of Alan Rauch, left the practice of law and joined the company in 1996. Two years later in 1998, Mr. Blazek passed away. Eighteen years later in 2014, Jon, now President and major shareholder of the company had, with his father, built the company’s gross revenues to $12 to $15 million per year with an inventory value of $9 million and no debt. The Company continues to grow and has now expanded its services to include Pressure Control Equipment to Oil & Gas Rig Drilling equipment.
Approximately 80% of the Company’s revenues are international in origin and the remaining 20% balance is domestic. Our client base is represented by approximately 100 companies with nearly a 100% retention rate.
As a courtesy to our customers, we have started recertification of BOP equipment, Choke and Rig Equipment to comply with the various regulations as required by the countries where our clients work. We will also serve as a buying agent for those in need of specialty items.
In summation, Ener-Tex is a “niche” business. With the consolidation of the larger manufacturers of oilfield drilling equipment, we are capable of offering service 24 hours a day, seven days a week to those small drilling contractors and operators worldwide who are not courted by the larger companies.

Between Jon and Alan, we have a total of 80 years of combined experience in the Oil & Gas Industry. In October 2017, Ener-Tex celebrated its 30-year anniversary.
